Jerry Jordan

Republican Candidate for District or County Clerk (Hardin County - County Clerk)

Current Occupation: Editor/Investigative Reporter | Birthdate: 10/07/1971

I am an award winning investigating reporter, who has fought to expose corruption in Southeast Texas. In addition, I have made it a point to challenge the local establishment and fight for public access through open meetings and public information. My work in exposing corruption has led to nearly three dozens elected or appointed officials being arrested and convicted.

Why are you running for office?

It's time for a change to bring about new ideas and new technology to one of the most overlooked, yet, most important offices in county government. It's time to move into the 21st century, have a Web presence and make access to public records easier for citizens.

Why should supporters of the Texas Nationalist Movement support your candidacy?

Although we may differ on a few issues, our beliefs about Texas and the right of the people to be free are the same. What is most important to me is that Texas citizens, specifically those in Hardin County, have the right to know what their government is doing, how it is spending their money and access the records being kept. That access should be easy and online. People shouldn't have to take off work to go to the courthouse to look at a marriage license, research deed records or probate documents among other things. The records of the government belong to the people.
